Keys to longer breath holds

Great breath holds the last couple days. To four holds : 1.45, 2.30, 2.40, 3.00 minutes. Also did my longest in a cold shower of 12 minutes - 1.20, 1.25, 1.20 and 1.25 (shower temp around 50 degrees). Key is : relaxed body, not forcing the in breathe, brief, simple out breathe, and rhythmic breathing.
